I love this month, for a number of reasons. This is the month of the Puerto Rican Day Parade, summer solstice, and the half way point of the year.
What sparks your light?
I don’t expect everyone to get lit up with 80 degree weather like me but there’s definitely gems to be had with this energetic vibration. Even if you’re in the southern hemisphere, summer and winter are on the opposite ends of the seasonal spectrum yet they are the same in one regard: adventures.
Winter adventures are internal.
Summer adventures are external.
Recently I went on an impromptu trip to Philadelphia. I barely planned it but knew I had to go. I’m not as impulsive as I used to be which was why I needed to take the plunge.
It wasn’t just about taking the day off to explore. It was my way of reconnecting with my adventurous spirit.
What do you consider to be an adventure and how can you incorporate more of that in your life?
June is a perfect time for indulging in those moments where we wander the world, or the city, or our own psyche. There’s magic to be found when we step outside the comfort zone because sameness is predictable and it doesn’t inspire growth.
Travel is something that lights a fuse in my soul. It allows me to reconnect with myself and my inquisitive inner child.
When we embark on adventures we’re signaling to the universe that we’re ready for inspiration.
We’re ready to cultivate our imagination.
We’re ready to integrate magic.
We’re ready to evolve.
Pick a day this month to go on an adventure. Keep it local or go somewhere new. Take a journal and write about your experiences. Identify the emotions and thoughts that come up which are low key revelations about yourself.
Personally, I love road trips but not on the bus. It also takes me about 4 hours to quiet down my inner drill sergeant so it takes a while to enjoy time away from my hustle.
Look at your calendar, pick a day and commit to it. It’s more than just a “ME” day. This is your day away from the hustle. This is an opportunity to indulge in wanderlust.
